Republican Health Bill Would Leave 23 Million More Americans Uninsured, C.B.O. Says

The House Republican health care bill passed last month would leave 23 million more Americans uninsured in 2026, according to a report released by the Congressional Budget Office. The report goes on to say an estimated 51 million people under the age of 65 will be uninsured. The C.B.O says a few million of those uninsured Americans would use tax credits to buy insurance policies that wouldn't cover major medical risks.

The C.B.O report does say the bill would reduce the federal deficit by $119 billion over a decade. The C.B.O is a nonpartisan agency that analyzes budget and economic information for Congress.
