Mel & Oksana Extortion Investigation--Michael Kraut

Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Michael Kraut says Gibson's legal team is makiing all the right moves...
(ozarksfirst.com) The investigation into a possible extortion plot against actor Mel Gibson is still weeks from completion.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says that overtime limits imposed because of budget cuts have slowed the investigation into whether Gibson's former lover Oksana Grigorieva, or someone close to her, tried to extort money from the controversial actor and director.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office may file domestic violence charges against Gibson, but sources say they're waiting for the Sheriff's Department to conclude its investigation into possible extortion by his former lover.
The breakup their relationship made headlines when Grigorieva released recordings of phone calls in which Gibson spoke to her using racial slurs and other abusive language.
The couple are locked in a bitter custody battle over their one-year-old daughter Lucia.
