Trump Accuses James Comey of Lying Under Oath

President Trump accused fired FBI director James Comey of lying under oath during his testimony before Congress. The President said he his willing to testify under oath about claims Comey has made about private conversations the two have had.

Comey testified Trump asked him to drop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Comey also hinted on Thursday that Trump fired him for moving forward with an investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election.

Is Sleeping in on the Weekends Bad for You?

Yup, sleeping in is bad for you. A new study published in EurekAlert! says going to bed and waking up later on the weekends than during the week -- which they call “social jet lag” -- is associated with poorer health, worse mood and increased sleepiness and fatigue.

American Academy of Sleep Medicine researchers report each hour of “social jet lag” increases the likelihood of heart disease by 11 percent.

The study’s scientists recommend adults get 7 or more hours of sleep every single day, including the weekend.

Melania and Barron Trump Expected to Move to WH Next Week

Melania and Barron Trump are scheduled to finally move from Trump Tower in New York City to the White House in Washington D.C. next week on June 14, reports Politico.

First lady Melania Trump previously said she wanted to wait until Barron finished out the school year in New York before making the move. CBS News reports Barron would be attending St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland next year.

Politico reports Melania Trump’s parents are expected to visit quite often to help out with Barron. For now they don’t plan to move in full-time.

ISIS Claims Responsibility for Two Attacks in Iran

Gunmen and suicide bombers targeted Iran’s parliament and the tomb of the nation’s revolutionary leader Wednesday, killing at least 12 people and wounding 42 others. The attacks were about a half hour apart. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the twin attacks.

NBC News reports the incidents were the first terrorist related incidents in Tehran in more than a decade.

The New York Times reports four of the assailants were killed at the Parliament and two at the tomb by security forces.

US-backed forces launch Offensive to Retake ISIS HQ Raqqa

 

U.S-backed Syrian forces have begun an offensive to recapture the ISIS de facto capital of Raqqa. Raqqa serves as the headquarters for the Islamic State in Syria. U.S. officials say the battle will be long and difficult, but taking back Raqqa is a necessary step to kill the idea of an Islamic State caliphate.

The U.S.-backed forces began advancing towards Raqqa in November, clearing the way by cutting off key routes in and out of the city.
