U.S. President Donald Trump said under the right circumstances he would be open to holding talks between the U.S. and North Korea during a phone call with South Korean President Moon Jae-in. The call comes a day after North Korea and South Korea held their first talks in two years.
Reuters reports Trump also said in the phone call that there will be no military action while North and South Korea are in talks.
President Moon “thanked President Trump for his influential leadership in making the talks possible,” the White House said. In a statement, the White House also said Moon and Trump “underscored the importance of continuing the maximum pressure campaign against North Korea.”
