ALDI Plans to Become Third Largest Grocery Store in US

German grocery store chain ALDI says it plans to invest $3.4 billion to expand to 2,500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022. According to a press release, with that many stores, ALDI would be the third largest grocery store in the U.S.

CNBC reports Wal-Mart Stores, the nation's largest grocery store, is testing lower prices and pushing vendors to cut their prices.

ALDI CEO Jason Hart says ALDI is growing because the grocer gives customers what they want -- organic and healthier options at cheaper prices.
