Republicans Make First Major Step to Replace Obamacare

House Republicans passed a bill to repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, without a single yes vote from House Democrats. It passed narrowly, in a 217 to 213 vote.

The move marked the first major step by Republicans to repeal Obama's signature domestic policy.

President Trump said it is a great plan and promised premiums and deductibles will go down. Democrats were quick to voice their opposition to the bill, House minority leader, Nancy Pelosi, said the American Health Care Act, which she called Trump Care, means "heart-stopping premium increases."

The bill now heads to the Senate.
