President Donald Trump delivered his first speech to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night.
Trump took an optimistic and positive tone. Trump started off his speech highlighting the end of Black History Month and pointed out that there is more work that needs to be done when it comes to civil rights. He also focused on immigration, health care and tax reform.
Arguably the most memorable moment is when he paid tribute to William "Ryan" Owens, a Navy SEAL that was killed during a mission in Yemen. Trump pointed out his widow, Carryn, as she fought back tears. He said the mission was a success and looked at Carryn when he said, "Ryan’s legacy is etched into eternity. Thank you.”
The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged passed 21,000 Wednesday in response to Trump's speech.
