Fiat Chrysler to Spend $1 Billion on U.S. Manufacturing, Add 200 Jobs

Fiat Chrysler says it will spend $1 billion on American manufacturing, including investments in Michigan and Ohio plants. A move that will add 2,000 jobs.

Fox News reports Fiat Chrysler's Warren, Michigan plant will produce pickup trucks, which are currently being built in Mexico. The Warren plant will also make the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Fox News also reporting the Ohio plant in Toledo will receive equipment to build a new Jeep pickup.

Last week, Ford said it would nix plans to build a $1.6 billion plant in Mexico and invest $700 million in a Michigan plant.

Reuters reports both companies said they didn't make their decisions due to pressure from president-elect Donald Trump, but said they appreciate his push for a pro-business environment.
