A Congressional Budget Office report says the GOP plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, will leave 18 million people without health insurance and that number would increase to 32 million in 2026.
The CBO report says premiums will go up by 20-25 percent in the first year. and double by 2026 after Republicans eliminate the Medicaid expansion and marketplace subsidies.
The report also says the CBO expect insurers in some areas to leave individual markets and roughly 10 percent of the population would be living in an area that has no insurer participation.
The document was prepared after a request from the Senate Minority Leader. The report does say the estimates made in the report are "uncertain."
