Three are dead and five are wounded in Tel Aviv after two gunmen attacked a popular open air mall, the Associated Press reports. Four of the 5 wounded are in critical condition. District police have taken both gunmen into custody, one being wounded. Reports say the two, who have been confirmed as Palestinian brothers, were allegedly aiming for Israelis. Fox News is reporting that the brothers were known to Israeli authorities and were both dressed as Orthodox Jews, likely to blend in.
The director of the open air mall told the media that security guards at the entrance were able to prevent the attackers from entering which likely averted a bigger disaster.
Palestinian attacks on Israelis over the last eight months have killed 31 while reportedly 200 Palestinians identified as attackers by Israel have been killed during that same time.
