Israel police are reporting that at least 21 people were injured in a bus fire in Jerusalem on Monday. The Mayor of Jerusalem and the district police chief have announced that the cause of the blaze was a bomb. The bomb started the fire in one bus, and it reached an adjacent bus as well. Bomb disposal experts are at the scene.
Out of the injured, two were reportedly in serious condition while six were in moderate condition. Police are also investigating to determine if one of the injured people brought the bomb aboard.
Israeli and Palestinian relations have been rocky over the past six months with stabbings, shootings, and vehicular attacks killing around thirty people in Israel. The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that during this time two hundred Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces.
