Obama Orders Sanctions On Russia, Expels 35 Diplomats Over Alleged Hacking

President Barack Obama slapped Russia with sanctions over meddling with the U.S. presidential election. Obama said all Americans should be alarmed by Russia's actions.

The Los Angeles Times reports the penalties are meant to punish Russian officials, including agents connected to email hacks of Hillary Clinton's campaign officials and the Democratic National Committee. According to The New York Times the sanctions included rejecting 35 Russian intelligence operatives from the U.S. and imposing sanctions on Russia's top two intelligence services.

The United States will also release evidence of cyberattacks from computers systems used by Russian intelligence, according to The Washington Post.
