Dylann Roof was found guilty by a federal jury. He was found guilty of 33 counts, including counts of hate crimes.
The 22-year-old white supremacist, killed nine black people at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, last year. During the shooting Roof allegedly said he wanted to incite a race war.
The Post and Courier reports the verdict came nearly two years from the day when Roof started scouting out Emanuel for his race war plans.
The federal jury will decide Roof's sentence -- either life in prison or to be put to death -- on January 3.
