President-elect Donald Trump will nominate Betsy DeVos for education secretary.
The Washington Post reports DeVos is a billionaire philanthropist who has pushed for private school voucher programs.
The Post says her nomination is expected to upset public school supporters and the National Education Association -- U.S.'s largest teachers' union -- sent out a statement saying she has done more over the the years to undermine public education than support students.
CNN reports Trump met with DeVos at a golf club in New Jersey this weekend.
According to the Post the DeVos family are heirs to the Amway business and are considered Michigan royalty.
