Lakeisha Holloway, the woman who drove her car onto the sidewalk in Las Vegas Sunday night, is in custody and will be charged with murder. Holloway had a toddler in her car when she repeatedly drove into pedestrians on the crowded sidewalks in the Las Vegas Strip. Her actions killed one person and injured 37 others.
One witness said the car was initially driving slowly on the sidewalk, and someone tried to get it to stop. The car sped up when it reached a group of people. The car then accelerated and "just plowed through the group of people."
After plowing into the pedestrians, Holloway drove to a nearby hotel, parked and asked a valet to call police, saying she had run over some people on the Strip, the Associated Press reported. She was “stoic” when she was arrested, the sheriff said.
