House Republicans Move to Impeach Obama, With Brad Bannon, Political Consultant, Washington, D.C.

The latest move from the house republicans is to impeach President Obama.  Brad Bannon, democratic political consultant with Bannon Communications Research in Washington, D.C., doesn't think this will ever happen.  Even if they vote to impeach Obama in the house, the only way to remove the President is to get 2/3 members of the senate to vote to remove him as well.

However, this won't stop the republicans, says Bannon, who "like to cause mischief even if it doesn't lead to anything."  The republicans can vote to impeach Obama but that's only an indictment and the trial is in the senate, adds Bannon.

Republicans voted 40 times to abolish the Affordable Healthcare Act and that's never been taken up by the senate either, so this will be another one of the republicans' "fruitless attempts to poke at the President without any results," Bannon says.

Bannon believes this is one of the reasons Congress is so unpopular, as Americans think Congress should be working on improving the economy and creating jobs.  He also believes the republicans are acting out of frustration and sour grapes, having their candidate lose to Obama in the last election.
